Tonny Membora Tagua Wounaan

This incredible art work is made from Tagua, known also as "vegetable ivory". The seed of this palm gets hard as ivory when ripe and is worked by the Wounaan indigenous peoples of the Darien rain forest area of Panama. Tonny is himself an artisan and a really neat guy.
